According to EA, they will give the Wii U a chance with Battlefield 4.
Lately it seems that a lot of developers have decided not to support the Wii U. EA, Ubisoft, and Bethesda just to name a few of them. EA however are prepared to give the Wii U a chance and release Battlefield 4 on that console at some point. Here is what EA Games Executive Vice President Patrick Soderlund stated regarding the Wii U, “Electronic Arts released Mass Effect 3 and FIFA 13 for the Wii U, but currently we’re focusing our resources on Xbox One and PS4, so it’s a fact that the priority (of the Wii U) is slightly lower. However, making Frostbite 3 work on the Wii U is not impossible. Where there are gamers, we’ll be there as well. This is the true meaning of “omnidirectional”
This is a drastic change from the dialogue EA was directing towards Nintendo and the Wii U only just a few months ago. Wii U owners don’t get your hopes up just yet, EA’s focus is currently on the next generation consoles, PS4 and Xbox One. In 2014 we should see the first signs of Frostbite 3 on the Wii U and maybe even a Battlefield 4. For now Wii U owners take solace in the fact that EA are even mentioning Wii U at all. EA will not taking its priorities away from the PS4 or Xbox One any time soon, so for for now all your trips to the battlefield will take place on the systems not call Wii U.
