Next Star Wars Battlefront may have single player campaign
In a meeting with investors of Electronic Arts, the head of EA Studios Patrick Soderlund, he suggested that, unlike the first game- the sequel to Star Wars: Battlefront could include single – player campaign.
The executive said that despite its commercial success, Battlefront was criticized for its lack of content. However, Soderlund explained that, from the beginning, the developers decided to work only in multiplayer mode, because that would allow them to deliver the game on time and thus would use the impact of the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
According to Soderlund, now the priority is to make deeper and wider games. The manager acknowledged that it is best to offer both the campaign and multiplayer component, because that way, players can become familiar with the controls before meeting with others online.
“The depth and breadth is something that’s proving to be more and more important,” he said. “In a world where we want $60 up front and we expect people to stay with us over the course of a long time, the depth of what we offer is important.” he concluded.
